One of the biggest moments in the Superhero blockbuster that had everyone talking was the tragic death of Agent Coulson in The Avengers. Clark Gregg had been a part of the franchise from the very beginning (Iron Man), and to see him go was bitter sweet for many fans.

With the recent news of Joss Whedon now developing a S.H.I.E.L.D TV show, many fans wonder if there is a possibility that they will see Agent Coulson again on the small screen.

“You know what, that was the moment when I went ‘Great, they’re doing the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show and I’m on a slab. I don’t know if we’ll see Agent Coulson again, but I certainly do his voice in their animated series, The Ultimate Spider-Man, and you never know, there may be a flashback or something sometime. I really hit it off with those guys [at Marvel], and I’ve talked to them lately about some ways I can continue to work with them, perhaps as a writer or director.”

There’s no word yet when the S.H.I.E.L.D series will take place. The series will supposedly act independently from The Avengers’ storyline’ with a few references to the big movies here and there. So there might be a slim chance the show will take place before the events of The Avengers, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

One rumor that keeps buzzing around the net is that Agent Couslon isn’t dead and he may return in The Avengers 2 as Vision. Vision is an android that was brought to life using the brain patterns of the deceased Wonder Man and Alex Lipton. Some believe that Marvel and Joss Whedon may alter this story arc in order to bring Clark Gregg back into the Marvel Universe.

“You know the Vision is synthetic with a soul, sort of, and he’s an amazing character who I loved when I used to read those comics. I love the idea of Coulson as that guy, but I don’t know if that’s in the cards.”

One fan has already taken the liberty of creating an interpretation of what Clark Gregg would look like as Vision. A piece of art that Clark called “hilarious” and “actually really moving.” You can check out a picture of the killer sculpture below.

While fans seem to really be rallying behind Clark as the Vision, he might have to duke it out with Vin Diesel for the role. According to numerous sources, the Fast Six star is apparently interested in the role as well. So who do you think should play Vision? Vin Diesel or Clark Gregg?

The Avengers hits store shelves September 25th on Blu-ray and DVD.
